The so-called
Street Museum of Art (SMoA) combines the guerrilla installation tactics of street artists with the curatorial practices of traditional museum institutions to present their inaugural exhibition,
In Plain Sight. Rejecting the recent trend to show street art in official gallery spaces, the organization instead chooses to display works by artists such as C215, Imminent Disaster, Nick Walker, and Sweet Toof
in situ, highlighting the interplay between art and Williamsburg's dynamic urban environment. Exposure to the elements plays into both the ephemeral and phenomenological aspects of this highly experimental exhibition, the duration of which is "entirely reliant on external forces and the reaction of the public."
